THE CLERIHEW POEM:

The clerihew is named after Clerihew Bentley who began writing this simple form as a diversion to the lectures of his professors. A quatrain, rhyming as two couplets, usually of uneven length. The object of the clerihew is usually named at the end of the first or second line. It is whimsical as opposed to satiric. It's rhythm is near to that of prose.

First Clerihew ever written :

Sir Humphry Davy

Detested gravy.

He lived in the odium

Of having discovered Sodium.

-- Clerihew Bentley

New Clerihew Poem:

Barak Obama Our President, Barak Obama,

born in Kenya says his Grandma.

Should he really be our President,

without proof of natural citizenship?
