A Soldiers Prayer !

Oh God hear my cry, don't let me die,

allow others not to decieve, let me fight for what I believe,

In God I trust,

keep the peace so I must,

Near or far,

where ever we are,

My fellow soldiers and I,

fight and try,

to keep the peace and not to die,

The world is what brings me to my knees,

oh God hear our pleas,

let death not be our fees,

All we stand for, all we believe,

Try we must, try we do,

Is peace so hard to concieve?

Believe in me, as I do you.

Spare my life as I conclude

peace for the world over not elude.

A G.I. Family's Prayer !

Hear, Lord, my prayer for my G.I.,

so eager to live- too young to die.

Beneath an alien blistering sun,

They face a dangerous enemy gun.

The storm clouds gather, the horror of war,

my soldier stands bravely guarding the door.

Defending justice, peace, and freedom,

of their commander-in-Chief give Holy wisdom.

From wars' alarms, bring swift release.

Hasten the day of honorable peace.

On land and sand and sea and air,

I back my soldier with this prayer:

"No matter how far he or she is forced to roam,

just bring, I pray, my G.I. home."
