Jousting my Love:

Invited I was to ride with you,

Now I am jousted from the horse

You set me high upon.

Sent spinning to the ground am I.

Tis not my bones that break,

but my heart.

It is splintered,

the fragments are so small my heart

can not bleed.

It can only expel each heart beat as despair.

Once filled of love, my lance now lies

next to my bones.

You speared my heart, then took away

I cannot breathe,

yet I take in pain.

Pain so great my mind throws in the white flag.

For imprisoned I am in my own heart,

even still…it will not let go of what ails me.

As a noble knight shall never surrender,

nor can my heart do your love any less justice.
